StopLik™ Lick Deterrent Aid
For some pets, licking can become a difficult habit to break — particularly when they continually return to wounds, irritated skin, hot spots or healing areas.
StopLik™ Lick Deterrent Aids are designed to discourage persistent licking by delivering a very mild electrical stimulus when the pet attempts to lick the protected area.
StopLik™ is available in two strengths:

Standard – for animals with moderate licking habits

Strong – for persistent or determined lickers
The device is powered by small cells similar to watch batteries and comes in a range of colour-coded lengths. Each strip can be trimmed to achieve the appropriate fit for the area being protected.
How Does StopLik™ Work?
When your dog or cat attempts to lick the area, StopLik™ provides a tiny electrical stimulus. According to the manufacturer, the stimulus is approximately 1/200th of a small static electricity shock.
The idea is simple: the animal quickly learns that licking that particular area produces an unpleasant sensation and chooses to leave it alone.
In veterinary clinical trials reported by the manufacturer, dogs and cats generally stopped attempting to lick after only a few tries.
